There is a bare minimum that you have to do, brush your teeth, bathe, eat, … At work there is a bare minimum for safety:
- Pre-use inspection of equipment
- Be fit for work
- Arrive on time
- Do not go into areas you are not supposed to
- Pay attention to what you and others are doing
- Report unsafe conditions
- Etc…
These do not take much pre-job planning, not like confined space entry, working at heights, etc..
If your company or you cannot or will not meet the bare minimums it is time to rethink what you are doing, time for a safety stand down.
