Had someone take some training with me, they had taken some other training with someone else, sent those certificates to a prospective employer. The prospective told the student that those certifications were not good enough, The training and certificates had to be from a respected industry body.
The student was upset, the had paid good money and taken the time to take training they were told was adequate. Their solution was a bit boggling to me.
In essence, their solution was to go to a worksite and work for an employer that did not require any training or certification to work there. Or to paraphrase, “You don’t need to know anything about safety to work here.”
If you do not need to know anything to work there, what makes you think that anyone else will. You are where they are literally practicing, willful ignorance.
Do you think that willful ignorance just applies to their safety systems? Why are they not applying it to: payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, maintenance, design, etc…. Do you really believe this is going to go well?
